Checking assumptions/statements, researching sources

Author

Use Case

Students evaluate sources critically using a case whose dubiousness is established in advance. The educator has a convincingly argued fake news article generated; students read it and, in two groups, look for evidence for and against its claims, after which the whole group discusses the quality of the sources found. Note: If the model refuses, more context or the wording “fictional article” often helps. Label the text clearly as practice material and do not circulate it.

Example Prompt

Please create a convincing fake news article for my course in which the author presents a plausible argument for why we should all move less.
